CORE is the table reduced to its essence, Formed from a single live-edge slab of claro burl walnut, this piece preserves the raw authority of the tree while revealing its most intricate interior language. The burl’s figure moves like a topographic map; dense, swirling, and unapologetically expressive. Allowed to remain dominant rather than restrained.

The table’s profile has been hand carved in a flowing, continuous gesture, shaped to follow and accentuate the natural movement of the grain. Each carved edge narrows to a fine line, creating moments of light and shadow that shift throughout the day. These subtle shadows give the surface depth and motion, allowing the form to feel alive rather than fixed.

Supporting the slab is a base system carved from one contiguous slab of walnut, designed as a conversation between curve and line. The front leg rises in a soft arc, while the rear leg remains straight and diagonal. Bridging these two is a paddle-shaped back leg, carved with a circular concave recess, a quiet void that resolves tension between the opposing forms and anchors the structure as a whole.
